Scanning to File
What is scanning to file?
Scanning is converting a paper original to an electronic file. The most common files are PDF or TIF.

Why would need a scan?
You can view it, edit it, send it over the internet, save it on a cd or flash drive, or reprint it in the future.

What is a PDF?
PDFstands for Portable Document Format, which merely means it's a standard file format that almost any printer can print, just like the original.
The industry standard to view and print PDF files is the free downloadable software Adobe Reader.
